The Kitchen Window
From this vantage point, one can really get a feel for how dangerous the working conditions were for the miners who worked this site. The valley bottom is 5,000 feet below and to the immediate left of this photograph is a 1,500 foot sheer drop. The buildings included in this shot are (left to right) the Lower Bunkhouse, the remains of the generator shed, the Boiler House, the Blacksmith Shop, the Ore Transfer and upper cable trolley, and part of the kitchen
